I encourage the children to explore arts and crafts; a variety of age- appropriate materials such as colored pencils, nontoxic pens, crayons, stickers, drawing pads, constructive paper, play dough, and other materials. Art simulates a children’s creativity, develops skillful hand-eye coordination, and aids in color recognition.
Children delight in unstructured (yet supervised) play. “Free” allows them to pursue their intersects, explore their creativity and develop social skills by playing with other children.
Play comes naturally to children. It is of great value to them and is critical to their development. Through play, they learn how to function in the world in many ways such as:
1.Providing a sense of accomplishment
2.Allowing them to determine what works and what doesn’t
3.Allowing children to explore
4.Duplicating real-life situations
5.Development of emotional skills
6.Advance in concentration and coordination
7.Education in mental and motor skills
8.Instuction in the ability to solve problems
9.Enables growth in creativity
10.Teaches children to get along with one another
11.Develops their senses
12.Aid in the prevention of discipline issues; children who are busy are less likely to get into trouble
13.Allows them to burn of energy
14.Strengthens family bonds, especially when parents and children play together.
Our education goal is to prepare all children with a smooth transition into school. I be creative in nature. Through our educational activities and play, children develop learning skills, gain confidence in exploration, and develop pride in their achievements. We believe that children are able achieve their highest intellectual capacity through play that is stimulating, creative, and reinforced with praise and encouragement. Our programs include a great deal educational activities (letters, numbers, shapes, colors) as well as multitude of arts and crafts type projects. All benefit from these activities by developing hand and eye coordination, color and shape recognition, visual tracking, and awareness of cause- and- effect relationships.
Outdoor play (when weather permits) is essential for the children’s well-being. Children need to run and exercise to stimulate muscle development, coordination and maintain vigorous health. Our outdoor play areas are safe (as indoor) shall monitored at all times.
Through daily activities and playing with interactive toys, children learn important socialization skills such as sharing, taking turns, and appropriate methods of communication. It is important for children to socialize early and to help them learn how to get along with others in a cooperative and supportive way; this socialization is of great importance prior to being into school or other group situation.
The children are observed every day as they participate in the activities of the daily schedule. If behavior is observed that arouses concern a child’s development, the behavior will be confidentially documented and provided to the parent. Three times a year you child will be assessed on their milestones and their skills. A report will be given to the parent and goals to work on with the child. As an experienced and trained provider. I am aware that children will develop differently; however, as child approaches school age, I will make every attempt to ensure that the children is provided with the skills that are need for them to start kindergarten and succeed
During story time, I read stories selected by the children (they each get to pick out a book if time permits); children who participated in the story time tend to delight in stories and develop a strong imagination. Children who are read to daily often develop a heightened interest in learning to read. I emphasize reading to children daily alongside additional activities that familiarize children with the letters of the alphabet. I believe enjoyment in reading is a prerequisite for a lifelong interest in learning. Alongside story time we participate in circle time. During circle time I may ask the children what they might have done the night before or I just talk about what we are going to be doing that day; this is just to get the children to participate and work on their socialization skills.
TLA operation hours are from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. Parents are asked to provide that childcare with as much reasonable notice as possible if they expect to be late while dropping off or picking up. There are 5-10 minutes transition period in between each activity
